Ongoing delays due to COVID-19

There are some ongoing delays due to COVID-19 in some sections of the Department.

Some delays can be found in:

》》 Subclass visitor visa (600) onshore applications. Many people have also applied to extend their stay in Australia on the subclass 600 visa and the Department is being faced with more applications to process (usually 28 days).

》》 8503 waiver applications: The department is prioritising urgent applications (visa expiring soon). Once again, many people have applied to remove this condition as they cannot leave so the Department is being faced with a huge workload. The processing of the application may take longer than usual (usually 28 days).

》》 Appeals are still ongoing but you might find that your hearing is listed for teleconference or videoconference. If the AAT gives you the choice of requesting an in-person hearing, then your appeal matter may be delayed.

》》 Some of the staff members in certain embassies may be working remotely. They may not have capacity to process per usual.
