20 Jun We got our client’s cancelled refugee visa back!
We successfully argued error of law grounds after a Department officer decided to cancel our client’s refugee visa while offshore and refuse to revoke the cancellation after we provided extensive documentation on the matter. Client is from a persecuted minority group in their home country.
No merits appeal for such a client and therefore, this was a good strategic pathway before commencing legal proceedings which could be very expensive.
Permanent visa was returned to the client and they successfully returned to Australia.
