Visa granted to domestic violence victim

Visa granted to domestic violence victim

In 2019, our principal solicitor acted for a woman who was a victim of domestic violence but had been on a temporary partner (subclass 820) visa.

As you know, visa holders on the partner visa whose relationship has broken down but have suffered family violence are still eligible for the partner visa. However, there are stringent legislative requirements they must meet.

She was successfully able to show that the woman had suffered family violence even though she had no official court reports on the violence suffered.
